Specialty maps are all the maps that don't really fit into any of the other map scale categories. Specialty maps will be either a much larger scale, or much smaller scale, than our other map types. For instance, a map of a schools campus, a golf course, a state park or a cities business district. All would have to be a much larger scale than a city scale map in order to fit all the necessary detail. On the opposite end of the spectrum would be a map of the entire United States. That map would have to be made at a much smaller scale than a state scale map in order to fit the amount of territory covered on the map.
